Fall of the Damnedby Mark Skwarek and Joseph Hocking 2005 | |
This large-scale wall installation was shown in Providence, RI multiple times, most recently during the 2005 Pixelerations show. The piece consists of a very (very!) slow animation of people falling into a glowing red abyss, with a thrumming furnace soundtrack filling the dark space. Thanks to a camera monitoring people in the space, the falling characters respond to the viewer's presence, very slowly turning and gesturing for help.
3D graphics were created in Maya by Mark Skwarek, and the interactive software was written using Blitz3D by Joseph Hocking. |
